Sophomore Class at Carleton College in 1947

It’s amazing to take a look back into time to see what the fearless leaders of our past looked like in their youth. Look at those big smiles on this panoramic class photo of the Sophomore Class at Carleton College in 1947. This is nearly an 80-year old photo, and yet you can clearly see the distinct features and emotions!

The Honor Society Museum has exhibits full of items dating back to the 1700’s. The artifacts represent the various ways members show affiliation with their society.  We are lucky enough to have some of these well-preserved black and white photos to show us that students today aren’t too different from students of the past. All of them were excited, invigorated and ready to start their future.
